Britney Spears To Kick Off Las Vegas Residency With New Year’s Run

Britney Spears is set to perform on New Year’s Eve and on Valentine’s Day during her Las Vegas residency.

The star’s “Britney: Piece Of Me” shows will kick off on December 27 and continue for two years at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and she’s set to perform four of those shows before the end of 2013.

16 dates have been announced so far, beginning on January 29, following a brief hiatus after her New Year’s run of shows. So far she’s set to perform on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and also on Fridays and Saturdays.

Britney’s new as-yet-untitled album, her eighth studio recording, will be released on December 3.

Alec Baldwin To Host New Current Events Talk Show

Alec Baldwin has landed his own talk show.

The former 30 Rock star will host “Up Late with Alec Baldwin” at 10pm on Friday nights on MSNBC beginning next month, where he’ll discuss current affairs with celebrity guests.

“I’ve developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented and engaging people in every imaginable field,” the actor said. “I’m grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television.”

Baldwin, a Hollywood liberal, will find his show up against fellow left-wing celebrity talk show host Bill Maher, whose HBO show “Real Time With Bill Maher” airs its new episodes in the same Friday night time slot.

Baldwin recently reactivated his Twitter page after quitting the social media site following an altercation with a reporter from London’s Daily Mail who claimed his wife was tweeting during actor James Gandolfini’s funeral.

Baldwin said he’d “never” rejoin the site during an interview with Vanity Fair magazine in July.

“Never,” he said when asked about opening his account again. “No. I went to Jimmy Gandolfini’s funeral, and when I was there I realized Jimmy Gandolfini didn’t have Twitter. Jimmy Gandolfini was so beloved as a person, and he was so admired as an actor, and he didn’t give a f*** about social media.

I really learned a lesson at the funeral, he adds. “I said to myself, This is all a waste of time. Meaning it’s fun sometimes, but less and less, and less. It’s just another chink in your armor for people to come and kill you. I stopped and said to myself, I’m going to try where I just don’t do this anymore.”

The actor had a change of heart earlier this week, and used the death of comic Sarah Silverman’s dog as his opportunity to get back online, perhaps with the bigger intentions of using it to promote his new show once it begins.

After all, it will need some help — MSNBC currently ranks third among the U.S. news networks, trailing closely behind CNN and pulling in roughly a third of the viewers as rival Fox News.

Perhaps Baldwin can help give the network a bump in the ratings.

‘Real Housewives Of Miami’ Star Adriana De Moura Goes Nude For PETA

Real Housewives of Miami star Adriana De Moura has taken it all off for a new PETA ad campaign to bring attention to marine animal captivity.

The new ad focuses on Lolita, a killer whale that has been living in captivity at the Miami Seaquarium since 1970.

De Moura and PETA are hoping to get the animal freed and returned to her native Puget Sound, Washington area wiht the campaign.

The new ad features Adriana naked and in a bathtub with the question, “Could you live in a bathtub for 40 years?” — likening the experience to what Lolita is going through.

“Lolita has been stuck in a tiny tank at the Miami Sequarium since 1970, when she was torn away from her ocean family,” the ad reads. “She is a lone orca surrounded by concrete and chemically treated water, and the Sequarium refuses to release her to a coastal sanctuary. Help free her by taking action at PETA.org.”

De Moura is the first ever Brazilian to posed nude for one of PETA’s animal rights campaigns, and she says that in her native country marine animal captivity for entertainment is banned.

She also explained that taking it all off (except for some strategically placed tape) was difficult.

“Getting naked is not as easy as it sounds in front of everybody,” she told NBC Miami’s Latin Beat blog, “but again I believe its for a good cause so if my nakedness can bring awareness to this appalling situation then I’m still in it literally in hot water.”

The Seaquarium also responded with a statement, saying, “Moving Lolita in any way, whether to a new pool, a sea pen or to the open waters of the Pacific Northwest, would be an experiment. And it is a risk with her life that we are not willing to take. There is no scientific evidence that the 48 year-old post-reproductive Lolita could survive if she was returned to the ocean.

“It would be irresponsible, reckless, and cruel to treat her life as an experiment and jeopardize her health and safety in order to appease a group of activists. These individuals will never be satisfied with the care she receives.”

Adriana isn’t the only Real Housewives star to shed it all for PETA, fellow RHOM star Joanna Krupa has gone nude for the organization several times, and The Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel also posed naked.

The girl with curls has grown up. Mackenzie Rosman, best known as her decade of work on TV show 7th Heaven as the little sister Ruthie, turned 23 last December.

Rosman appeared on 238 episodes on the show, starting when she was at the young age of 6 until she was 16. She got the part when she impressed the crew by personally greeting them and shaking their hands.

Alyssa Milano ‘Leaks’ Sex Tape To Bring Attention To Crisis In Syria

Alyssa Milano has a sex tape. The Charmed star revealed on Wednesday that she and an unnamed male companion vacationed in Cabo recently and taped their bedroom antics.

The scene was set with a classy hotel suite, rose petals scattered on the bed and floor, candles giving the room a romantic glow.

But when the time came for action, Alyssa bumped the camera she had just set up and it spun around to focus on… the nightly news, where an anchorman was relaying all the details about the current situation in Syria and the U.S. being at the doorstep of yet another war.

Of course, the video is just a gag for Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s comedy website Funny or Die!, but, like numerous others before it, it’s meant to raise a little political awareness about a humanitarian issue.

Milano’s video was made with the purpose of sending a message and getting people to see that there are some major issues going on in the world right now.

“I think it was a really fun way to get people to realize that there are important issues our country is dealing with right now,” the actress tells website Mother Jones. “If people end up learning something about the crisis in Syria that’s a good thing-even if I had to do a sex tape to lure them in.”

So basically, Alyssa thinks we’re all sitting around watching celebrity sex tapes and have no clue about the Syrian Civil War that’s going on right now, currently puttin the government between a rock and a hard place on whether or not to order an air strike on the nation over President Bashar al-Assad’s alleged use of chemical weapons.

Angelina Jolie To Receive Honorary Oscar For Humanitarian Efforts

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the recipients of four honorary awards it will give out this year at the fifth annual Governor’s Awards gala in November.

Angelina Jolie, who will be presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, will be joined by Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin and costume designer Piero Tosi.

“The Governors Awards pay tribute to individuals who’ve made indelible contributions in their respective fields,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. “We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s honorees and look forward to bringing their peers and colleagues together to celebrate their extraordinary achievements.”

The honorary awards come in the forme of the typical Oscar statuette, and are given “to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”

Jolie’s award is also an Oscar, her second (she won Best Supporting Actress for 1999’s Girl, Interrupted), which is given to a person in the motion picture industry “whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.”

The awards will be presented Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday, November 16.

Kate Upton Shows Off One Of Chrissy Teigen’s New Beach Bunny Swim Bridal Bikinis

Kate Upton posted a sexy and revealing new photo of herself on Instagram earlier this week wearing a white Beach Bunny bridal bikini designed by pal Chrissy Teigen.

“Rough life,” the supermodel captioned the photo.

Teigen is set to marry singer John Legend sometime this fall, and have planned an 11-day honeymoon, according to People magazine, and she plans to surprise him with selections from her new line.

“I want to wear a bathing suit for my husband that makes me feel sexy,” Teigen told People. “I know other women feel the same way, so I was inspired to design a line.”

The bridal swimwear includes the word “bride” across the back, something Teigen says she added to make it more unique.

“While the swimwear had to be eye-popping as well as functional for honeymoon travel, it also needed to stand apart from other styles on the beach,” she said. “So, we added a little humor!”

Upton has been spending her fair share of time in a bikini lately, filming beach scenes for upcoming comedy The Other Woman in the Bahamas with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.

For the third year in a row, Starpulse was on the red carpet and talking to all of the celebs as they strolled by in their designer couture gowns. The pace was fast and furious as stars wizzed by to get into place for their performances and presenting duties. Sometimes it was difficult to get grab them, but even if we shouted a question or two, most of them graciously answered.

Our team this year grew to three people, with the addition of our production assistant, who tweeted and added photos to the Starpulse Instagram account throughout the day.

Some of the most gracious A-listers to stop by included Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and her hubby Michael Douglas, as well as George Clooney. In fact, it was Clooney who shared with us that he was ready for a cocktail before the ceremony even began.

80s Nostalgia, Pirates! & Frankenweenies: Which Film Will Win The Oscar For Best Animated Feature?

Two years after winning this Oscar for Toy Story 3, Disney’s back in the mix with not one, but two animated features amongst the five nominees in the category.

The studio will have better odds of winning — but it’s not a question of if one of their two films will win, it’s a question of which one will win.

The clear choice here is Wreck-It Ralph, the highly nostagic story of a retro, 80s-style video game bad guy who just wants to be a good guy.

There should be little competition from the two Halloween-themed films: Tim Burton’s lacking Frankenweenie and the equally ‘meh’ ParaNorman.

But watch for Aardman Animation’s The Pirates! Band of Misfits to possibly pull the upset here. The company’s Wallace and Gromit Movie Curse of the Were-Rabbit won this award in 2006, up against Burton’s Corpse Bride and Hayao Miyazaki’s (amazing) Howl’s Moving Castle (released in the U.S. by Disney).

But then again, a film featuring Al Roker as “The Pirate Who Likes Sunsets and Kittens” just can’t win.

Vanessa Hudgens Says Nude Photo Scandal Was The ‘Worst Moment’ Of Her Career

Vanessa Hudgens is set to prove that she’s all grown up now with her new film, Spring Breakers, about a bunch of college girls who rob a diner to fund their spring break trip.

Things quickly go downhill from there; and it’s much darker and more violent than the typical family-friendly films for which the actress is best known. Even co-star and fellow Disney kid Selena Gomez has asked her younger fans not to see it.

Vanessa recently did a new photoshoot and interview for Paper magazine; discussing her extensive Disney background, those 2007 photos that hit the internet (you know which ones), and Spring Breakers co-star James Franco — who’s still actually still a stranger to her despite being one of the film’s main characters.

“I still don’t know him,” she says of her co-star. “I have no idea who James Franco is. I know who [Franco’s character] Alien is. He’s that into method acting. He comes on set as his character. In between scenes, he is still his character.

“When I first saw him, I was speechless because he just completely transformed himself. The way he talked, with that accent… Everything he does is so organic.”
