JENNIFER LAWRENCE covers British Vogue’s November issue and talks about fame, being a “curvy” girl, and her gorgeous boyfriend, NICHOLAS HOULT.
Jennifer almost rejected the highly coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” due to her anxiety over becoming a huge star. But of course, as we all know, the stunning actress eventually took the job and consequently became one of Hollywood’s biggest young stars-which means she now has to deal with the pitfalls of fame just like every other celebrity.
The actress tells British Vogue:
“I was really upset the day that The Hunger Games came out. I was shaking all day wrapped in a blanket.”
The Oscar nominee, who is known for being a very low-key celebrity, continues:
“There’s a responsibility [that comes with being famous] I’m aware of. In one sense, luckily, it comes naturally because I don’t stay out beyond midnight. I don’t really have an exciting life.”
Jennifer then adds:
“You watch these little freedoms being eroded away, like being able to pump gas in peace or whatever… but it’s here, and it comes and goes and leaves.”
She also talks about how tired she is of Hollywood’s obsession with being skinny, calling all of the pin-thin celebs “lollipops.” Jennifer says:
“Oh God, yes, I’m so tired of the lollipops… I mean, if I looked like that I wouldn’t be tired of it, obviously. But it’s hilarious, the way I’m supposedly the overweight one?”
“Like, they got me at the movies yesterday and the caption read something like ‘Curvy star cannot wait to dig into tub of popcorn.’ I mean, C’mon! I’m just a normal girl who likes to eat.”
In the interview, the actress also opens up about her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, whom she met while filming “X-Men: First Class”.
When asked if Hoult likes to spend a lot of time on his appearance, Lawrence says:
“Oh, he really doesn’t care. Like he’ll sometimes wear these white tennis shoes with jeans, then tuck his pants into his socks. He has absolutely no idea how good-looking he is. I think a lot of women and men hate me because of that.”
