Chrissy Teigen Calling Off Engagement With John Legend!?!?

Published April 30, 2013 by gossipzoo

Oh no!!!

Chrissy Teigen is apparently fed up with waiting for her boyfriend of seven years, John Legend, to make their love official and if they aren’t married by the end of 2013, she’s calling it quits!

The Sports Illustrated model, who got engaged back in November of 2011, said:

“We keep pushing the date. Definitely this year, but this year just started. If it’s not this year, I’m out. We were sick of people saying, ‘When are you getting engaged?’ – so we did. And now everyone’s asking when we’re getting married.”

Gurl, if that’s what’s making you walk, then just ignore people! That shouldn’t get in the way of your happiness!

But seven years is a long time to wait, especially when she already has a dress picked out, and their January wedding date for this year has already passed.

In typical Chrissy fashion though, she made a joke, adding:

“You know. I’m doing it backwards. I’m going to get de-engaged, then have a baby, then get married.”

Well, whichever way makes you happiest! That’s what really matters.

Michelle rarely gets us going with her red carpet choices, but we were pleasantly surprised by her simple yet stunning look at the recent premiere of “Oz The Great and Powerful,” which was held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday.

The blonde beauty looked lovely in a short-sleeved white Prada dress adorned with sparkling crystal flowers.

She accessorized with a pair of black, crystal-embellished T-strap sandals (also by Prada) and a Kate Young for Target box clutch.

Though Michelle‘s dress looked demure and ladylike from the front, it actually featured a surprisingly risqu waist-high side slit, which showed off her black boyleg underwear.

A bit of eyeliner, rosy pink cheeks, and a soft pinkish-nude lip color completed the look.

Ke$ha ‘Chugged’ Her Own Pee While Filming MTV Documentary

Published April 27, 2013 by gossipzoo

Ke$ha

Want to get someone’s attention? Drink your own pee and film it. Gross!

Pop star Ke$ha drank her own urine after a friend insisted it was good for her metabolism, and the stunt was captured on film in her upcoming MTV reality show. Her filmmaker brother Lagan Sebert captured the moment for “Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.”

The singer explained to BBC: “He got all the things you would want to see and all the things you wouldn’t really want to see – making out with dudes, drinking my own pee, jumping out of a building, jumping out of airplanes, swimming with sharks…

“I was told drinking my own pee was good… Somebody tried to take my pee away from me and I said, ‘That is mine!’ So I snatched it up and took a chug and it was really gross so I don’t do it anymore.”

“Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life” will give fans a peek inside the hitmaker’s life as she tours the world and records her latest album. The fly-on-the-wall series is set to air in April.

Cradle Of Filth

Heavy metal stars Cradle Of Filth have been forced to axe their upcoming U.S. tour due to immigration issues.

The British rockers were due to start the American leg of their worldwide 28 Days Closer To Hell tour in New York later this month but were unable to resolve problems with the U.S. immigration department.

A statement posted on their official website reads, “Cradle Of Filth are really sorry to tell all of their fans that their US tour ’28 Days Closer to Hell’ is going to have to be cancelled, due to US immigration issues beyond the band’s control.

“They have been desperately trying to solve these problems, but it has become evident they are not going to be resolved in time for the band to embark on a tour that starts next week.

“The band sincerely apologize to all their fans and to the other acts on the tour and want to assure people they have made every effort possible to go ahead with the tour.”

Peter Dinklage Joins The Cast Of ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

Published April 26, 2013 by gossipzoo

Peter Dinklage

We’ve got to hand it to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer, because the guy sure knows how to surround himself with serious talent. First he went and brought back original “X-Men” trilogy stars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ellen Page for his time travel epic. Then he signed up “X-Men: First Class” leads Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. And now?

Well, now he’s just added Golden Globe and Emmy winning “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage. Looks like this “Future” is going to be an awesome one.

Singer made the announcement on Twitter late last night, saying “Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!”

That, of course, set off an instant storm of speculation over just who Dinklage will be playing. With most of the X-Men already cast, most fans are hoping Dinklage will instead be playing the diminutive adventurer Puck, who in the comics is a member of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight and who has a long history with Jackman’s Wolverine.

However, with two full teams of X-Men already set to appear in the film, adding Alpha Flight to the mix might just be overkill. Our best guess if Dinklage isn’t Puck: A replacement for Sen. Robert Kelly, who in the comics plays a major role in the “Days of Future Past” storyline but who, in the movies, has already been killed off (he’s the anti-mutant congressman who gets mutated into a glob of jelly in the first “X-Men” film).

Whatever the case, though, one thing is sure: We can’t wait for July 18, 2014 to get here.

‘Melrose Place’ Actress Amy Locane Sentenced To Three Years In Prison

Published April 26, 2013 by gossipzoo

Amy Locane

Former Melrose Place star Amy Locane has been sentenced to three years in prison for vehicular homicide.

The actress allegedly struck another vehicle as it turned into a driveway in Montgomery, New Jersey in June, 2010, critically injuring the driver, Fred Seeman, and killing his wife, Helen, who was in the passenger’s seat.

Locane was arrested after cops detected alcohol on her breath and she was later charged was aggravated manslaughter and assault by automobile.

She pleaded not guilty to both counts in 2011, but last November she was convicted on charges of the latter and vehicular homicide.

She was facing 15 years behind bars, but on Thursday the judge granted Locane leniency when handing down her sentence, since the actress has two children, one with medical and mental disabilities, according to the Associated Press.

The news prompted Fred and his son to storm out of the courtroom in anger, with the widower shouting, “What a travesty!”

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Releasing Their Own Wine This Year

Published April 25, 2013 by gossipzoo

Next time you make a toast, think of Brad and Angelina.

The engaged couple, who have owned an 1,000-acre estate with vineyards in southwestern France since 2008, will be releasing wine in the United States beginning March 15 bearing the estate’s name, Miraval.

The first wine will be a 2012 vintage pink rosé, and it will feature the label “Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.”

Perrin refers to Marc Perrin, a French winegrower who was introduced to the famous couple by mutual friends. His family is well-respected in winemaking circles, and Perrin and the Jolie-Pitts are expected to release a line of organic white and red wines later this year.

In the meantime, the rosé will feature an elegantly shaped bottle with a round label. It is also due for review in an upcoming edition of Wine Spectator.

Perrin met the couple on their estate last summer to discuss expanding their production and distribution. Jolie and Pitt consulted on the new bottle and redesign.

Miraval is located in Provence, in a wine-growing valley at an altitude of 1,150 feet. The estate includes over 75 acres dedicated to the cultivation of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes operated in accordance with organic farming. The estate’s previous owner grew and released several prize-winning wines including Miraval’s predecessor rosé: Pink Floyd. The name was a tribute to the legendary rock band which recorded tracks for The Wall in studios located on the French estate grounds.

As for Pitt and Jolie’s involvement, Perrin told French business magazine Challenges, “We talked a lot and did the first harvest together. They are very demanding in seeking excellence in the quality and character of their wine.”

Leah Hostalet Helps Find Kidney Transplant Matches on Facebook

Published April 25, 2013 by gossipzoo

This Valentine’s Day, kidney transplant recipient Jerry Wilde is celebrating life with his family thanks to a devoted friend, a generous stranger – and Facebook.

When the kidney he had received through a transplant in 1992 developed a cancerous tumor and was surgically removed, Wilde was put back on dialysis and was told that just eight percent of people with his blood type could be his donor. Dozens of friends, family and colleagues were tested to see if they were a match, but to no avail.

“The waiting period for my blood type on the transplant list was long, between two and a half and three years,” says Wilde, 50, a professor of educational psychology at Indiana University East. “I didn’t think I’d survive that long. I thought, ‘Well this just isn’t going to happen. I’m just going to wither away.'”

But when Leah Hostalet, Wilde’s friend and former student, saw a status update from Wilde in November of 2011 that he was in search of a kidney donor, she wanted to help.

On November 18 she set up a Facebook page, Find a Kidney for Jerry, which included his blood type and other pertinent medical information. Becky Melton – a total stranger to Wilde – saw the page that would change both their lives.

“I was looking for purpose in my life. It just struck me,” says Melton, 28, who was scrolling through Facebook when she saw Jerry’s page, “I thought, ‘I want to do this. This is my guy. I am going to give him my kidney.’ ”

Melton, a loan processor in Richmond, Ind., and Wilde exchanged information. On December 14, Melton found out she was a match, and texted Wilde a photo of herself holding a sign with a picture of two kidneys on it. The sign read: “We’re a match!” Wilde still gets choked up thinking about that day.

“I was standing in the living room in shock,” he says. “I had never met this person. It’s like, who does this for a complete stranger?”

On February 24, 2012, the transplant took place and Wilde has been healthy ever since.

Though thrilled for her friend, Hostalet, a 33 year-old mom of three in Brownsburg, Ind., didn’t feel her efforts were done.

“I felt drawn to this cause for some reason, and I felt like there was more I could do,” she says.

Her solution? Find a Kidney Central, a hub for kidney donation pages that now is home to 161 people who are in need of a new kidney. In the year the page has been up and running it has linked donors for 38 transplants, and has grown from a bulletin board of information into a vibrant support community for those waiting for transplants.

“Everyone who is in need is so supportive of one another,” says Hostalet, “The community feel to the page brings me such joy.”

Pairing Kidneys Everywhere

The efforts have created a good will cascade effect: Leona Jones of Bedford, Ind., found and utilized Find a Kidney Central. In July, Jones got a call from her transplant coordinator, who had been contacted by Susan Yost, a woman who had seen Jones’s page and wanted to donate her kidney. Though Yost and Jones were not a match, they agreed to participate in a paired donation program at IU Health University Hospital.

They were then connected to Peggy McCormick and her nephew Lucas, who needed a second transplant after his first transplanted kidney started to fail. Peggy donated her kidney to Leona, and Susan was a match for Lucas and donated a kidney to him.

“It was just like everything fit,” says McCormick, 58, of donating her kidney to Jones. “It was a match made in heaven.”

Doctors told McCormick that it was a miracle that Leona was matched.

“Two days before the transplant we all met,” says McCormick. “After we had our preliminary labs done they got us all together in a room. There was a lot of hugging and crying.”

Adds Jones, “It was very emotional … I didn’t know these people, and for someone to give up part of their body to you, it’s indescribable.”

Hostalet has become a passionate advocate for kidney donation, and spends upwards of 28 hours a week on Facebook helping people set up their own pages and spreading information about her site.

Dr. Bryan Becker, transplant physician and former National Kidney Foundation president, calls Hostalet’s work exceedingly important.

“Living kidney donor transplantation is a tremendous way to treat kidney failure with a better likelihood of a good outcome,” he says.

Lifelong Bond

As for Wilde and Melton, the two say they share a lifelong bond. Melton is a graduate of IU East, and Wilde had a scholarship named after her, The Becky Melton Scholarship, which is given to a student who exemplifies the spirit of giving.

Hostalet, Melton, Wilde and Wilde’s daughter met for dinner one night before the surgery. After dinner, Melton posted the following status on Facebook: “I just met four members of my family that I didn’t know.”

Hostalet says she is continually inspired by those who post to the site.

“Just seeing their strength, moving forward every day even though they’re dealing with this extreme struggle in their lives, it makes me want to keep searching for them. I want to keep educating people as to how difficult dialysis is on the body, and the need for living donors.”

As for her next steps, she says, “My plans are to keep this page running and spread as much awareness as possible. I’ll take it wherever it leads me. I feel like I’m meant to do this.”

Those who are interested in registering as an organ donor on Facebook can do so here.
