Today is a sad day.
Fashion journalist, Anna Piaggi, who provided inspiration to Karl Lagerfeld, passed away in her Milan home on Tuesday at the age of 81.
Anna was hard to miss in the front rows of Milan and Paris runway shows as she rocked bright funky prints and vibrant colors everywhere she went.
Her career took off as a translator for the Italian publishing company, Mondadori and then she went on to write for Vogue Italia, Vanity and other publications.
Miz Piaggi was so hip, that Lagerfeld even published a sketchbook of her creations and once wrote “Anna invents fashion.”
In 2006, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London held an exhibition of her complete collection of apparel that included an extensive amount of dresses and shoes.
Ooooh, we’re pretty sure there was nothing but fabulousness in the writer’s closet that we would’ve loved to see!
With her nice flare and creative writing skills, Anna will surely be missed.
