The next-generation of gaming is on the horizon. It’s hard to believe it but we are just 2 weeks away from Sony’s Perfect Day; the exciting North American launch of their highly hyped Playstation 4 console.
As someone who grew up primarily with the Playstation 1 (I was far too young and innocent to take any game seriously on my Sega Genesis and SNES) I couldn’t be more excited. I am just itching to pick up my console and mess around with it, and to of course write my thoughts here and review some heavy hitting titles like Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack.
We still have to grind out those final 2 weeks though, and while great games like Assassin’s Creed IV are keeping us occupied, Sony is also releasing some juicy nuggets (or walls of text) of information. I’m referring to the official Playstation 4 ultimate user guide!
I’m not joking around when I say that this thing may as well be a novel. And while a great deal of it is common sense or uninteresting technical jargon, there are surprising details in it. This article will condense that information into key areas.

Chelsea slipped to third ahead of the meeting of Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool as the Blues lost 2-0 at Newcastle United.
Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy were on target as the Toon’s French Connection stunned Jose Mourinho’s men. For the full story of this game check out my match report.
What did we learn from this famous win? Here’s five things we noticed in the WhatCulture office.
5. Play Eden Hazard On The Left Please Jose

Belgium international Hazard put in a rather lazy performance in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Manchester City last time out in the Premier League. He was operating on the right flank and seldom looked bothered about making an impact.
Mourinho switched him to the left-hand side for this trip to the Northeast and Hazard was prominent almost from the first whistle. He linked well with Juan Mata and although the Blues failed to score here it seems sensible going forward to keep the three advanced midfield players in natural positions.
Hazard’s season will culminate in the World Cup with his country and today he demonstrated the creative presence that is expected of him. And yet former Lille teammates Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye turned out to be more prominent, which is no mean feat.

Looking at Shakira‘s rock-hard abs, it’s hard to believe that the singer delivered her first child earlier this year.
But the new mom, who’s featured on the cover of the September issue of Self, tells the magazine that she didn’t snap back into shape immediately after her son, Milan, was born in January.
“After the delivery, you look like a shar-pei!” the 36-year-old admits.
Shakira says she avoided packing on too many pregnancy pounds by training four to five mornings a week. “I did Zumba throughout my pregnancy,” she reveals, and even worked out privately with its creator, Beto Perez.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer got camera-ready to appear on The Voice when Milan was just two months old by training hard and eating right.
“Two minutes of ab work isn’t enough,” she insists, and says that she ate eight small meals a day (200-250 calories each), with lots of fiber to fill her up and protein, calcium, iron and fish oil to build muscle.
And while the Colombian star’s “quite proud” of her rear, she embraces her not-so-perfect areas as well.
“I don’t obsess over my flaws, because I see my body as a whole,” she explains. “Besides, I think men appreciate confidence more than perfection.”

Two is better than one for Drew Barrymore, who has drawn on her own childhood experience as she plans her family with husband Will Kopelman.
“I was an only child, and it was lonely,” she says in the September issue of InStyle.
“Some people love it and thrive on the independence, but I want my kids to have other kids around. Maybe two kids so they can run around life together, roll their eyes at their parents together like Rusty and Audrey Griswold from [National Lampoon’s] Vacation. So however that’s going to come about, it’s gonna happen!”
However, the actress and cosmetics connoisseur admits that parenting daughter Olive, now 10 months, is “a lot of pain and a lot of nervousness.”
“I love the person who said, ‘Parenting is like wearing your heart on the outside of your body.’ It’s the most beautiful, perfect analogy. I have anxieties about how much I’d like to get it right, making sure I provide her with an environment that’s safe, nurturing and loving. And silly and free, also consistent and grounding.”
Barrymore, 38, adds: “Then I just have the same typical fear every other parent has: Are they going to fall down?”

LEA MICHELE has just debuted the audio for her new single “Cannonball”… and we’ve got it right here!
Shortly after unveiling the album cover for her debut album “Louder” on Twitter, Lea Michele released her first ever single, “Cannonball.”
We don’t know why it’s taken her this long to release an album of her very own with absolutely nothing in it that was originally sung by Journey or Barbra Streisand, but the timing is actually quite perfect considering she has a lot of painful, raw emotions to work through (because of her boyfriend Cory Monteith‘s sad and untimely death) that could translate to some amazing-yet heartbreaking-songs.
But “Cannonball” isn’t really a “woe is me” type of song, but rather a song about new beginnings.

TOM CRUISE dies repeatedly in the newly released trailer for his upcoming movie, “Edge of Tomorrow.”
Much like in his previous movie “Oblivion,” Tom Cruise kicks more alien butt in his new one called “Edge of Tomorrow.”
Here’s the interesting part, though. The Scientology follower dies-more than once-after his soldier character is forced to live out the same events as a result of entering a time loop.
Something tells us this is one movie that his estranged ex-wife, Katie Holmes, wouldn’t mind seeing.
