Paula Patton: I ‘Wasn’t Surprised’ By Miley Cyrus Grinding Against My Husband

Published February 28, 2014 by gossipzoo

Miley Cyrus has Paula Patton‘s seal of approval to twerk on.

The actress, who is married to Cyrus’ VMAs singing partner Robin Thicke, says she had no qualms about the 20-year-old getting up close and personal with her man during their controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

“I wasn’t surprised at all,” she tells the TODAY Show. “Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your … all my friends do it like that. And I don’t really know what the big deal is.”

“I didn’t know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys,” Patton adds in reaction to the routine’s negative reviews.

In fact, the Baggage Claim star is very open about her hubby doing his thang with half-naked (or fully nude) ladies.

Thicke recently told Treats! magazine that Patton was the one who encouraged him to star in their NSFW cover, which was riddled with scantily-clad models.

“I’ve done some topless photo shoots before but never completely nude. It was very sexy and I like that. At first I thought, ‘Okay, let’s just do topless’…but, again, my wife and her friends were like, ‘No way … go all the way,'” he told the mag. “I think we definitely pushed the envelope.”

Angelina Jolie Has Won Herself Another Oscar

As if saving the world wasn’t rewarding enough, Angelina Jolie now has an Academy Award to prove it.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Thursday that the actress, who already nabbed a golden statuette in 1999 for her supporting role in Girl, Interrupted, will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award – an honorary Oscar – for her charitable work.

As a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie will now join Jeffrey Katzenberg, Oprah Winfrey, Sherry Lansing, Jerry Lewis and Elizabeth Taylor as a recipient of the prestigious award.

Actor Steve Martin, actress Angela Lansbury and Italian costume designer Piero Tosi will also be given Oscars recognizing their career achievements this year. The presentation will take place as an untelevised ceremony on Nov. 16 at Hollywood & Highland Center’s Ray Dolby Ballroom.

“The Governors Awards pay tribute to individuals who’ve made indelible contributions in their respective fields,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. “We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s honorees and look forward to bringing their peers and colleagues together to celebrate their extraordinary achievements.”

Most Iconic VMA Moments: Rihanna and Chris Brown Sneak a Smooch in 2012

Published December 20, 2013 by gossipzoo

Welcome back to Celebuzz’s Most Iconic VMA Moments showdown. In anticipation of of the 2013 MTV VMA ceremony on August 25, we want you to help us name the most memorable VMA scandal ever. Two weeks ago, we asked you to vote for your favorite VMA performance. (Britney Spears’ 2001 performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U” won in that category.) Last week, we asked you to vote for your favorite VMA fashion moment. (Congrats, once again, to Britney’s 2002 dominatrix-meets-biker-chick look!) Now, it’s all about the drama! You may vote once per hour.

Is this stolen kiss between Rihanna and Chris Brown the most scandalous VMA moment ever? Let us know by voting below. Plus, continue reading for a look back at the controversial incident.

Rihanna and Chris Brown Make the 2012 VMAs… Interesting

Let’s be real: the 2012 VMAs weren’t exactly the most memorable in the show’s history. Sure, everyone praised Frank Ocean‘s performance, and it was a great night to be a One Direction fan, but nothing from last year really stands out. In fact, last year’s ceremony was the least-watched ceremony in years, probably because no one showed up wearing a meat dress or kissed Madonna on the mouth.

There is one thing, though… Rihanna and Chris Brown “accidentally” (???) took the rekindling of their romance public! Rumors of a reconciliation had been circulating for a few weeks, but Rihanna had recently told Oprah that, though she still loved him, they were not dating.

The story goes like this: Rihanna and Chris split in 2009 after he assaulted her. While that would be the end of the story for regular couples, we’re talking about celebrities. This means that we’re more interested in a bloated star-crossed lovers epic than a clear-cut ending. There had been hints here and there for years that perhaps the couple wasn’t over over, but it wasn’t until last year’s VMAs that people really began to think they were back together for reals.

For a short time after the cameras caught the kiss, the couple continued to downplay their “on again” relationship. Of course, the pair did eventually get back together officially, much to the blogosphere’s simultaneous delight (TRAFFIC!) and disgust (ABUSE!). Things got super official at the 2013 Grammy Awards when the pair attended as a couple. How cute.

They are currently “off again,” which is probably for the best. But who knows what this year’s VMAs might bring…

Most Iconic VMA Moments: Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley Share the World’s Worst Kiss

Published December 1, 2013 by gossipzoo

Welcome back to Celebuzz’s Most Iconic VMA Moments showdown. In anticipation of of the 2013 MTV VMA ceremony on August 25, we want you to help us name the most memorable VMA scandal ever. You may vote once per hour.

Is the awkward kiss between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 the most scandalous VMA moment ever? Let us know by voting below. Plus, continue reading for a look back at the memorable incident.

Do You Remember the Time… Michael Jackson Awkwardly Made Out With Then-Wife Lisa Marie Presley?

Some context: The self-proclaimed King of Pop, Michael Jackson, married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis, secretly in 1994. This was not too long after Michael settled the first of several child molestation cases brought against him, so the timing, to the public, seemed… off. Their awkward kiss at the 1994 VMAs didn’t do much to inspire faith in the validity of their nuptuals. And you can see why:

They both look like they want to gag afterwards! “And to think, people said this wouldn’t last…” Well, Michael, it didn’t. And that kiss probably didn’t help.

You may be thinking, “It’s just a kiss! How is that a scandal?” This moment, along with many others from their marriage, were used to further the idea that their relationship was a sham and that Michael was only using it to quiet rumors about his sexuality and accusations of child molestation. This is some awkwardly dark stuff, folks – and it was arguably the biggest pop culture story of its time.

The ’90s were a tough time for Michael. Though he continued to have some success musically, he suffered through many serious scandals, ranging from the child molestation charges to rumors that he was bleaching his skin. He was married and divorced twice during the decade, and, to be honest, his career was never the same.

His awkward kiss with Lisa Marie remains as one of the most infamous reminders of Michael’s ’90s public relations nightmare. So awkwardly scandalous was this moment that, in its way, it contributed to the destruction of an idol. Whether you loved him or hated him, believed the rumors or not, you have to admit: that was not a good kiss.

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite scandal above. Remember, you can vote once per hour. May the most scandalous moment win!

Tearful Lea Michele Remembers Cory Monteith at Teen Choice Awards: ‘He Was Very Special to Me and the World’

Published September 12, 2013 by gossipzoo

Accepting the Teen Choice Award for TV Actress – Comedy on Sunday, an emotional Lea Michele took a moment to remember her former castmate and boyfriend Cory Monteith, who died last month of an overdose of heroin and alcohol.

Here’s what she said in full:

I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these very past difficult few weeks. Thank you. Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world. I wanted to dedicate this award to Cory. For all of you out there who loved and admired Cory as much as I did, I promise that with your love, we’re gonna get through this together. He was very special to me, and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of hearts, and that’s where he will stay forever.

Michele’s emotional speech came shortly after the cast of Glee won Best TV Comedy. Costars Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz also praised Monteith during their respective speeches.

“Although we lost someone that we really love and that all of you guys love too, we are very fortunate to come back to a show where we feel the love of family. Cory was like a brother to us and like a dad. He was always ready to sign an autograph or take a picture with a fan. He loves you Gleeks, and he loved his fans,” Riley said.

“On behalf of our brother and our castmate we know that Cory would have wanted to dedicate this award to you guys. Our condolences to you as well. We love you so much,” added Ushkowitz.

Sunday night marked Michele’s first public appearance since the death of Monteith, whom she dated on and off for years. On July 29, she tweeted a message to her fans thanking them for their “enormous love and support.”

“Cory will forever be in my heart,” she wrote.

Most Iconic VMA Moments: Britney Spears Performs ‘Slave’ With an Assist From a Snake

Published August 31, 2013 by gossipzoo

We’ve selected five of the most memorable performances; vote for your favorite below. Continue reading after the poll for more Britney goodies. Return next week to vote for your favorite VMA fashion moment. Then, the week of August 12, we wil ask you to vote for your favorite VMA scandal. And now… it’s voting time!

A Look Back At Britney’s Iconic ‘Slave’ Performance

In 2000, one year before Britney performed “I’m a Slave 4 U,” Britney performed another little ditty you may have heard of at the VMAs: “Oops!… I Did It Again.” The performance, which featured Britney ripping away her tuxedo to reveal a sparkly, flesh-toned catsuit, helped cement her as one of her generation’s most exciting performers.

Cut to one year later. Expectations were high. Could Britney top her “Oops” performance? There’s no way, right? WRONG!

Britney emerged from a cage and performed, for the first time, her brand new single, the slinky, Neptunes-produced “I’m a Slave 4 U.” And while she did share the stage with a live white tiger, all eyes were on Britney, who looked sexier than she’d ever looked before:

Of course, talk of this iconic moment would not be complete without mention of Britney’s co-star, Banana the albino python. As Britney danced her way across the stage with Banana draped across her body, it was clear: this was not a performance to forget. Ever. In fact, in 2008, MTV named it the most iconic performance ever. Does it still deserve that title? That’s up to you, dear readers.

I mean, c’mon! This performance is so famous that even kittens are imitating! #Reductive

Foot Injury Forced Kristen Stewart To Use Crutches At Oscars

Kristen Stewart

Sunday night Kristen Stewart suprised fans by arriving at the 85th Annual Academy Awards on crutches.

She was helped out of her limosine with the aid of the medical device before posing on the red carpet in a white and gold Reem Acra gown without them.

On Saturday she was spotted limping during rehearsals for the prestigious event.

According to People.com, she injured herself after stepping on a piece of glass. Her make-up artist told the website: “[She] cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago,” adding she was in “a little bit of pain.”

Her hair stylist told Us Weekly: “We all were trying to make her feel better and her friends were trying to tell her she’d be fine, she has insecurities about being in front of people so today was even tougher.”

It must have been a rough few days for the star. On Saturday night her film “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” dominated the 2013 Golden Raspberry Awards, which “honors” the year’s worst films.

Among other awards, the vampire film was voted “Worst Picture,” and Stewart landed the “Worst Actress” accolade. She did not attend the event.

Charlize Theron Helps Oscars Security Guard After Seizure

Published July 7, 2013 by gossipzoo

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron came to the rescue of a security guard who suffered a seizure before the Academy Awards on Sunday, according to a report.

The Monster star was heading into the prizegiving at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater when a man working at the ceremony fell to the ground.

Editors at E! Online report Theron rushed to the security guard’s aid as another onlooker phoned a doctor.

Theron didn’t let the drama affect her appearance at the ceremony – she teamed up with Channing Tatum to perform a ballroom routine while host Seth MacFarlane sang Fred Astaire’s The Way You Look Tonight.

Speaking to E! Online later in the evening, Theron said of her performance, “(It was) completely nerve-wracking, but how could I not dance with Channing Tatum? He’s so wonderful!”

“I was sort of tricked into it. I thought it was going to be something smaller, like he (MacFarlane) pulls me up from the audience and we do a little spin. But then he was was like, ‘Rehearsals start Monday!'”
