Kellan Lutz Shares Shirtless ‘Hercules 3D’ Still on Instagram

Published July 28, 2014 by gossipzoo

Kellan Lutz has made everyone’s weekend (week, for some of us) thanks to his latest Instagram post.

On Friday, the 28-year-old hunk unveiled a new shirtless still of himself from his upcoming movie Hercules 3D.

The shirtless display comes just days after Lutz fans were treated to new photos of the sculpted actor on the Bulgaria film set. The images included Lutz, who reportedly put on 20 lbs. of muscle for the role, in full armor and shield.

Hercules 3D, directed by Renny Harlin (The Covenant, The Long Kiss Goodnight), arrives in theaters in early 2014.

Here’s Another Trailer for ‘The Counselor,’ Featuring a Sexy, Smoldering Michael Fassbender

Published July 23, 2014 by gossipzoo

The latest trailer for Ridley Scott‘s The Counselor really begs the question, how many ways can Michael Fassbender slay us with his eyes?

Save for a few new clips and lines from Brad Pitt, the new trailer is more of the same. Like its previous previews (here and here), the film sets viewers up for an adventure that follows the downfall of a lawyer (Fassbender) who gets caught up in the world of drug trafficking.

Cameron Diaz and that cheetah are in this trailer, as are Penelope Cruz and a scary Javier Bardem (it’s the hair, methinks).

The Counselor opens in theaters Oct. 25.

‘Hunger Games’ Newcomers Sam Claflin and Jena Malone Talk ‘Catching Fire’

Published July 9, 2014 by gossipzoo

Long before Hunger Games: Catching Fire began filming, the race was on in Hollywood to land a role in the second installment of the buzzed-about series based on Suzanne Collins‘ bestselling books.

When Sam Claflin went to try out for Finnick Odair, the handsome, charismatic and clever District 4 tribute, he thought the competition was too tough.

“Finnick is supposed to be this godlike creature,” he told Glamour magazine’s September 2013 issue. “I remember sitting in the audition room and this kid walked in. He was seriously one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen. And I was just, Nah, this is never going to happen.”

But happen it did. Claflin joins fellow new cast member Jena Malone – who will play the brutal District 7 tribute, Johanna Mason – in appearing alongside Jennifer Lawrence‘s Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson‘s Peeta Mellark in the anticipated Hunger Games follow-up, to be directed by Francis Lawrence.

“I know they saw every single actress from here till Tuesday,” Malone said of the casting team’s search for their Johanna. “They wanted to find someone who didn’t just physicalize this character but could also scare people. I don’t know what I did – I guess I scared the hell out of them.”

Once Claflin, who quietly wed girlfriend Laura Haddock recently, landed the coveted role, he had to physically transform into the strong, sculpted Finnick.

“I had chicken and asparagus every day for three months,” he said, adding it made Haddock “quite happy. I was sending my mom photos of myself, really buff. [Laughs.] That sounds so wrong!”

‘The Spectacular Now’ Will Totally Make You Want A Summer Fling

Published July 9, 2014 by gossipzoo

I sat down with Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley, curious to know if it was a stretch for them to revert back to their 18-year-old selves for The Spectacular Now.

Teller drew a few similarities between himself and his character, Sutter. Back in high school, the actor was a well-rounded, popular student who excelled at athletics, academics and music. While he had a few advantages over Sutter, Teller was able to play his role with the greatest of ease.

Woodley, on the other hand, admitted it was difficult to play Amy because she is a naturally extroverted person.

The Spectacular Now opens in theaters August 2nd.

Published June 10, 2014 by gossipzoo

As expected, Matt Damon and Elysium topped the weekend box office, raking in some $30.5 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sci-fi thriller beat out Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis‘ comedy We’re the Millers and Disney’s latest animated flick Planes, which took in $26.6 million and $22.5 million, respectively.

With its weekend ticket sales, We’re the Millers‘ five-day total (it opened on Aug. 7) now stands at $38 million.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and 2 Guns round out the weekend’s top five.

On deck for next week: Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Kick-Ass 2, Jobs and Paranoia. And for the very patient Directioners, there are two more Fridays to get through before This is Us opens.

Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine’ Dominates Weekend Box Office with $55M

Published May 30, 2014 by gossipzoo

We’re going to skip the puns (like “claw,” “slice” and “slash”) and get to the point: Wolverine won the weekend box office.

It wasn’t great, with $55 million domestically (for comparison, X-Men Origins: Wolverine opened to the tune of $85.1 million four years ago), but Hugh Jackman‘s latest superhero flick made enough to beat The Conjuring and Despicable Me 2, which finished the weekend with $22.1 million and $16 million, respectively. The animated snail tail Turbo and Adam Sandler‘s Grown Ups sequel round out the top five.

Wolverine follows dear Logan (Jackman) in the Yukon, where he’s been living as a “normal” person. When an old friend from Japan asks the title hero for some help, the latter emerges as more powerful than ever.

On deck for August: Elysium, We’re the Millers, Kick-Ass 2, Jobs , The World’s End and the movie we’ve all been waiting far too long for, One Direction: This Is Us.
