Duchess Kate and Prince William's Son Share Birthday With 22 Celebs

The royal baby boy shares some pretty good company with other famous Cancers – or shall we say these celebs are actually the ones who have the honor of toasting their special day with the world’s newest (and tiniest) prince.

Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s heir to the throne was born just hours ago at 4:24 GBT July 22, while other famous faces born today are also celebrating getting one year older.

Birthday girl Selena Gomez celebrated her big 2-1 in casual style with junk food in lieu of blowing out the candles: “My cake was… Jack n the box tacos… Yes,” she wrote on Twitter.

Nickelodeon star Madison Pettis is just shy of her Sweet 16, turning 15, while newly-minted 27-year-old Pretty Little Liars hunk Keegan Allen posted what he’s doing on the “best birthday ever” – playing frisbee, of course.

Grown Ups 2 star David Spade rings in 4-9 and Lethal Weapon actor Danny Glover celebrates 67.

Legendary Jeopardy host Alex Trebek turns 73, while Eagles frontman Don Henley says hello to feting 66.

Across the Pond, 46-year-old British actor Rhys Ifans and iconic English film and stage star, Superman‘s Terence Stamp (75), will celebrate the historic occasion with their fellow countrymen.

Back in the U.S., our own version of royalty, Kennedy family matriarch, the late Rose Kennedy, would have turned 104 today.

And there are plenty more birthday guys and gals.

Let’s Jump The Gun And Assume Prince Harry Will Marry Cressida Bonas

Published April 30, 2014 by gossipzoo

When you wait around for something to happen, you get bored and want to talk about other things.

Since Baby Cambridge is taking its time (it totally knows the destiny that awaits it), why don’t we take a gander at the spare’s love life?

There were two blonds with Prince Harry at his friend’s June 22nd wedding. One was ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy, who served as a bridesmaid to Lady Melissa Percy. The other was Cressida Bonas, Harry’s current girlfriend whom he’s been dating on and off for about a year now.

Despite reports to the contrary, sources tell E!‘s Melanie Bromley that the two are “definitely more in love than ever.”

Cressida, 24, whose older sister married Sam Branson back in March, was introduced to Harry through his cousin, Princess Eugenie.

“I would not be surprised if she’s the one he marries,” the source added of Bonas and Harry. “They are very affectionate with one another when they are with their friends. They kiss and cuddle and just seem head over heels for one another.

“They both have the same sense of fun and adventure. They’re on the same wavelength. They are so compatible.”

Davy, who is originally from Zimbabwe, ended things with Harry partly because she wasn’t into being a princess (WTF). “It’s not a life for me,” Davy once said.

Cressida, on the other hand, comes from a very colorful family and knows the hardships that come with the territory. Her mother is Lady Mary-Gaye Georgiana Lorna Curzon, who was a 60s IT girl and has been married a few times.

“Cressida is really smart, very naturally pretty and just a really cool girl to hang out with,” the source stressed. “It’s hard for Harry to date as there are so many opportunities out there, but Cressida is someone he knows he can trust as she is already in his circle.”

Naomi Watts Premieres ‘Diana’ In London

Naomi Watts White Versace Gown Diana World Premiere

Naomi Watts arrived at the world premiere of Diana tonight in a white Versace gown, a choice that paid tribute to both the late Princess of Wales’ friend and favored designer.

Just in time for the biopic’s release date, Vanity Fair posted their interview with Lady Pamela Hicks, Prince Philip‘s first cousin and Queen Elizabeth‘s third cousin (do keep up).

Pamela, who is promoting her memoir, Daughter Of An Empire, and boasts a fantastic coif, wasn’t Diana’s biggest fan. While others saw a philanthropic princess, she saw a cranky spouse that made Prince Charles‘ life miserable.

“She had enormous charisma, she was beautiful, she was very good at empathy with the general crowd … and she had no feeling at all for her husband or his family. Quite the reverse!” Hicks said of Diana.

“She was really spiteful, really unkind to him-and, my God, he’s a man who needs support and encouragement. [The marriage] absolutely destroyed him. He looked grey and ghost-like. Now of course he’s blossomed again.

“She made everybody believe she’d been thrown to the wolves. Such nonsense! She was given the Queen’s favorite lady-in-waiting, Sue Hussey, to help her, to teach her. But she didn’t want to be told anything. ‘That’s boring, Sue,’ she’d say. Instead, she wanted to listen to her music and go disco-ing or to some jive concert.

“She didn’t try. She had no need to try because she saw the people admired her, then they admired her more. She reckoned she was the star.”

So…anyway. The tentative US release date for Diana is November 1st.

Prince Andrew And Fergie: Why That Marriage Rumor Might Be True

Published January 11, 2014 by gossipzoo

When the Daily Express spotted Sarah, Duchess of York deplaning in Aberdeen en route for Balmoral Castle, I knew in an instant that Fergie was making her way back into the royal fold.

The report was published on August 11th, just one day before Prince Philip was to join Her Majesty at their Scottish retreat. Ferguson, who divorced Prince Andrew in 1996, has been persona non grata in the royal family for a string of reasons: Getting her toes sucked by a financial advisor while her eldest daughter was nearby, attempting to sell information on her ex-husband to an undercover journalist. The list goes on and on, but the fact remains that Fergie hasn’t been warmly received by the House of Windsor in quite some time.

It should be said, though, that the Queen reportedly still likes Fergie, but the Duke of Edinburgh wants absolutely nothing to do with her. In 2011, Fergie told Harper’s Bazaar that the monarch as “the most wonderful, forgiving, nonjudgmental person I know.”

I spoke to Royal Central‘s editor-in-chief, who believes that there is a good reason that Fergie was seen at Balmoral. Princess Beatrice, 25, has been dating her boyfriend, David Clark, for over five years, and it’s believed that an engagement announcement is forthcoming. Since Beatrice needs the Queen’s permission to marry, it would make sense that the York family gathered together in Scotland.

‘Diana’ Gets A Release Date, And A Big Thumbs-Down From Dr. Hasnat Khan

Published January 10, 2014 by gossipzoo

Diana, the biopic based on Kate Snell‘s book about the Princess of Wales and her lover, Dr. Hasnat Khan, is due to open internationally on September 5th. The US release date for the film, starring Naomi Watts and Naveen Andrews, is currently slated for November 1st.

The world premiere will take place in London’s Leicester Square.

Dr. Khan, a heart surgeon, met the Princess at the Royal Brompton Hospital while treating her friend’s husband. The couple secretly dated for two years, and broke up shortly before Diana’s death in August 1997. Dr. Khan spoke to the Mail on Sunday this weekend about his disapproval of the film, despite producers claiming they had his “tacit acceptance.”

“It is a complete lie,” Dr. Khan said of producer Robert Berstein‘s claims that he met Snell outside of a brief encounter in the late 90s The author came to the hospital, where she and Dr. Khan had a cup of coffee.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone involved in that movie. I have never given any approval for it,” he said. “I have never met or talked or written to Bernstein and I have never given any approval in a direct or indirect manner.”

Khan admitted that his romance with the Princess ran its course a few months before her untimely death in Paris. During their courtship, the couple would sometimes communicate via Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell. There was at least one instance where Burrell hid the doctor under a sheet while driving him to Kensington Palace.

“Even after two years, the relationship wasn’t leading to a meaningful progression or conclusion and that was the main stress on both of us,” he said.

Prince William Says Goodbye To Anglesey, Wales

Published December 2, 2013 by gossipzoo

Today marked a bittersweet milestone in Prince William‘s military career. The Duke completed his first official engagement following the birth of his son in Anglesey, Wales, where he and the Duchess of Cambridge have lived the past three or so years.

“This island has been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for us both,” William said at the 2013 Anglesey Show. “Catherine and I look forward to returning again and again over the coming years with our family.”

William announced that his operational tour with the RAF Search-and-Rescue force would come to an end next month, and today was William’s way of thanking Anglesey.

“I know that I speak for Catherine when I say that I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey,” the Duke said.

“The views across the Menai Straits are undoubtedly among the most stunning in the British Isles. I know that both of us will miss it terribly when my Search and Rescue tour of duty comes to an end next month and we have to move elsewhere.”

Several well-wishers asked after Prince George, who was born on July 22nd at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. William was happy to oblige, joking about the baby’s huge set of lungs and the fact that, like most newborns, he’s not exactly getting eight hours of sleep a night.

“All we have got to do now is to get him to sleep through the night… Please,” William joked as he looked up at the sky, according to the Daily Mail.

William’s speech was not without a lighthearted reference to life as a new parent.

“I have to say that I thought Search and Rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding, but looking after a three week-old baby is up there!” he told the crowds.

The Duke was gifted with several different items, ranging from baby clothes to toys. The Mail reported that one gentleman gave William a “Little Grey Fergie” 1954 tractor.

“George will love playing with this. And my brother will too!” William joked.

The Cambridges are expected to tour Australia in 2014, but Kensington Palace has told me that it’s “too early” to release information regarding next year’s diary.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Name Their Son

Published October 1, 2013 by gossipzoo

Today, Kensington Palace announced the name of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Cambridge.

George Alexander Louis is the child’s name.

The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

– Clarence House (@ClarenceHouse) July 24, 2013

Louis Mountbatten was Prince Philip’s uncle, and a strong presence in Prince Charles’ life until his passing in 1979. Alexandra is one of Queen Elizabeth’s middle names, so this is a nod to Her Majesty.

Yesterday, William told members of the press that he and Catherine were “still working” on a name, even though one reporter tried to ask the Duke if “George” was in the running.

The family left Kensington Palace, with mom in the backseat making sure Prince George was safe and sound.

“Kensington Palace will not be saying where the Cambridges are heading but they turned eastwards, not westwards towards Bucklebury,” royal reporter Richard Palmer tweeted. However, others are saying that mom, dad and baby are in fact at Bucklebury Manor.

Queen Elizabeth visited her great-grandson earlier this morning, as did Prince Harry. Last night, Pippa and James Middleton were at the couple’s temporary home to greet the boy.

King George VI was the baby’s great-great grandfather, and acceded to the throne when his brother, King Edward VIII abdicated in 1936.
