Madonna Announces Short Film in Support of Freedom of Expression to be Released on BitTorrent

Published March 2, 2014 by gossipzoo

We now know more about Madonna and Steven Klein‘s “secretrevolutionproject.” The two released a trailer two weeks ago, but didn’t say much else about what they were teasing. As it turns out, “secretrevolutionproject” is a short film about freedom of expression. The film will be released via BitTorrent on Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. EST. It can be downloaded for free on BitTorrent, a site usually associated with digital piracy.

It’s connected to Art for Freedom, a global initiative to furthering the cause of freedom of expression. Created by Madonna, in association with VICE, the site will encourage others to send in original art dedicated to freedom of expression.

Madonna spoke about the project in a statement, via IndieWire: “My goal is to show by the example of secretprojectrevolution my creative commitment to inspire change in the world through artistic expression. I hope my film and other submission to Art For Freedom will be a call-to-action and give people a place to voice their own creative expression to help fight oppression, intolerance and complacency.”

The film will be distributed on a relatively new platform called BitTorrent Bundle. Its goal is to allow artists with a tool to distribute work of any file type or size. You can download “secretrevolutionproject” for free. It will also come with bonus content like film stills, exclusive interviews and a message from Madonna.

madonna's most controversial moments

The Queen of Pop is celebrating her big 5-5, though it has felt like an eternity with her imprint on the day’s culture.

Since breaking onto the music scene in the 80s, Madonna has given us a plethora of pop hits and, of course, plenty of controversy. Whether she’s flashing concertgoers or burning crosses, Madge always has a knack of landing herself on front page news. (Okay fine, news in general.)

Given she’s turning another year old this Friday, we have no doubt there’ll be more scandals coming our way.

Here’s to you, Madonna. Go get ’em, girl.

Launch the gallery above for her most scandalous moments – so far.

Madonna Shows Off Her Grills at Menton Music Festival With Her Boyfriend Brahim Zaibat

“Hi, I’m Madonna, Queen of Pop. One of my many, many accomplishments is that I invented reinvention. Another one of my accomplishments that I am known for is riding trends, a.k.a. reinventing things that other people claim to have done first and taking all the credit. Because I am Madonna, Queen of Pop. Miley Cyrus, Beyonc , and Rihanna may have done “grills” first, but I have done them firster, for I am Madonna, Queen of Pop. As Queen of Pop, I command you to read on for today’s winning captions, which my good and handsome and talented and lovely friend has put together after the jump.” – Madonna, 2013.

Madonna Stalker Found GUILTY Of Resisting Arrest!

He may have gotten off on the weapons charge, but Madonna‘s stalker could STILL be expressing himself straight to jail!

Robert Linhart, the former firefighter who was arrested in 2010 for parking his SUV outside the pop icon’s NYC apartment with a signed strapped to it reading “Madonna, I need you. Tell me yes or no. If it’s yes, my dream will come true. If it’s no, I will go. XXX,” has been convicted by a jury of resisting arrest…and could now face up to a year behind bars!

And as he STILL maintains he did nothing wrong, it should be no surprise that his lawyer, Lawrence LeBrew, plans to appeal on his behalf!

Yeesh! Ice pick or no ice pick, this guy still gives us the creeps!

Here’s hoping whatever happens, he just stays the EFF away from Her Madgesty!
