Entertainment news reports that “Glee” will end after its sixth season.
Such sad news…
Not too long after Cory Monteith‘s tragic death in July and the much-awaited tribute episode for the late actor, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy told reporters that he’d be willing to end the show if Cory‘s co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele had asked.
As it turns out, a part of him has been wanting to pull the plug on the series for a while now.
Murphy told reporters at an event honoring FX Networks on Wednesday:
“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around [Lea Michele‘s character] Rachel and [Monteith‘s character] Finn’s story. I always knew that. I always knew how it would end.”
Of course, the controversial death of one of his biggest characters also had a lot to do with the difficult decision. He explained:
“I knew what the last shot was, [Finn] was in it. I knew what the last line was – she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens, you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring it out.”
We’ve yet to see how the conclusion will go, but Murphy said he has a “good idea” about it and that it’s “kind of in [Monteith‘s] honor, which I love.”
How do you feel about “Glee” ending soon?
